A fixed point theorem for generalized nonexpansive mappings

In this paper, we obtain a generalization of a fixed point theorem given by Popescu [O. Popescu, Comput. Math. Appl., vol. 62, no. 10, pp. 3912--3919, 2011]. An example is also given to support our main result.
