Continuous spectrum for some classes of $(p, 2)$-equations with linear or sublinear growth

We are concerned with two classes of nonlinear eigenvalue problems involving
equations driven by the sum of the $p$-Laplace ($p > 2$) and Laplace
operators. The main results of this paper establish the existence of a continuous spectrum consisting in an unbounded interval, which is described by using the principal eigenvalue of the Laplace operator.
