This privacy policy will explain how Miskolc Mathematical Notes (MMN) uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.
What data do we collect?
MMN collects the following data:
- Personal identification information (name, e-mail address, institutional affiliation, country of origin and optionally phone number and postal address),
- Account login credentials, such as usernames (which is always the e-mail address of the user) and the hash code of passwords.
How do we collect your data?
MMN collects data in two ways:
- We collect data and process data when you register online;
- An executive editor registers you – exclusively by public information – in order to invite you to review manuscripts.
How will we use your data?
MMN collects your data so that we can:
- Process your submission;
- Invite you to review manuscripts.
Data security
We take precautions to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft and misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction through the use of appropriate technical and organizational measures.
Sharing of your information
We do not share your personal information with any other company, journal or institution.
What are your data protection rights?
MMN would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
- The right to rectification: Registered users can directly access their account information and make corrections or updates at any time.
- The right to erasure: You have the right to request that MMN erase your personal data either by signing in and ticking the box “Remove my personal data from MMN” or by sending an e-mail to mmn_support@uni-miskolc.hu with the subject “Remove my personal data from MMN”.
How do we use cookies?
The website of MMN uses cookies only for the handling of sessions. These cookies are not used for any other purpose, like commercial or advertisement, and are deleted when the user logs out.

The website of MMN contains links to other websites. Our privacy policy applies only to our website, so if you click on a link to another website, you should read their privacy policy.

MMN keeps its privacy policy under regular review and places any updates on this web page. This privacy policy was last updated on 23 June 2021.

Open access
Miskolc Mathematical Notes is a Diamond Open Access journal, which means that
- All content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts or articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
- Authors are not charged for publication in this journal, and the journal does not request any submission fee nor any article processing fee.
Peer review
Miskolc Mathematical Notes is a sinle-blind peer-reviewed journal. The final decision is based on at least two peer reviews.
Copyright
Authors retain the copyright and full publishing rights without restrictions. Papers are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License CC BY 4.0, thus interested researchers are free to remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, so long as attribution is given to the creator.
Archiving
All published papers are preserved at two places. On the one hand they are stored in the repository of the Library and Information Centre, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (REAL-J), and on the other hand they are also stored in the journal's data base.
Repository
Authors of a published paper are free to deposit a copy of all versions (including the submitted, the accepted and the published) of their paper in an institutional or other repository of their choice without embargo.
Publication ethics
Miskolc Mathematical Notes publishes original research papers that have not been published elsewhere. Any form of plagiarism implies rejection of the submission. Plagiarism includes but is not limited to: complete, direct, self-, patchwork, accidental and translation plagiarism (cf. crossplag).
The journal is committed to a fair peer review process. If this is violated by reviewers or editors, it should be brought to the attention of the editor-in-chief immediately, with appropriate evidence/documentation, who will investigate the matter and take appropriate action if necessary.
