Common fixed point theorems with an application in dynamic programming

Two common fixed point theorems for a class of contractive mappings are proved in metric spaces. As an
application, the existence and uniqueness of solution for a unctional equation arising in dynamic programming is given. The
results presented in this paper generalize some known results in
the literature.
